Dutch provider of offshore access solutions Ampelmann, has secured its first contract with Petra Resources Sdn Bhd, with end client Petronas Carigali Sdn Bhd in Malaysia

Ampelmann will supply offshore access services in Sarawak waters during the monsoon period. Stretching from October to February, the monsoon period is renowned for its harsh weather conditions, making conventional offshore transfer methods less safe and efficient, Ampelmann said in a statement on Wednesday.

According to the company, it will supply its Ampelmann A-type system, which compensates all vessel motions, thus providing a stable gangway for transfers, which increasing the safety for the workers.

Ampelmann did not provide the financial details of the contract.
