Port of Gladstone recently hit a milestone when Maran Gas Mystras became the 100th LNG carrier to enter the port.

The vessel berthed at the Queensland Curtis LNG (QCLNG) facility on January 6, 2016, becoming the 100th vessel to berth at the port after just over a year since the first LNG carrier Methane Rita Andrea, berthed at the QCLNG facility on December 26 2014, Gladstone Ports Corporation (GPC) said in a statement.

With Australia Pacific LNG having recently exported its first shipment, all three LNG facilities on Curtis Island are now operational.

The three plants are expected to be in full operation by mid-2016, with the majority of exports under long-term supply contracts to China, Japan, South Korea and Malaysia.

The LNG operations will add over 25 million tonnes of trade through the Port of Gladstone each year, making Gladstone the second largest concentrated location in the world for LNG production, according to GPC.
