BVG Associates, a renewable energy technical consultancy, has appointed Richard Morris as a consultant on projects within the wave and tidal sector.

At BVG Associates, Morris will lead wave and tidal industry development, device and component testing and validation, market analysis, commercialisation in foreign markets, commercial due diligence of potential projects and technologies, and the global growth of wave and tidal projects, the company said.

He has nearly 30 years of experience with environmental, space and renewable energy organisations. At Narec, Morris brought the largest offshore wind turbine to the UK for testing and demonstration, and at EMEC, he was an ambassador for the growth of wave and tidal technology around the world, building on Scotland’s lead in the industry, BVG Associates added.
