DBR has delivered its off-line fuel treatment system for the topside of Veja Mate offshore wind farm’s substation, which is currently under construction in Belgium.

The containerized system is located between two storage tanks of 75m³ each and the day tanks of three grid diesel generator sets and the emergency diesel generator.

The system is operated totally separate from the main power system. Actuated valves and pumps take care of the correct flow and direction of the gasoil. The total system has been designed to operate 24/7, which is possible even when the main system is shut down or when filter inserts need to be changed.

“Both systems have a lot of interfaces (piping, electrical, functional). In order to minimize these kinds of interfaces, we have chosen to engineer and to build both systems by our preferred offshore supplier DBR B.V,” said Tom Vercauteren , Project Engineer at Cofely Fabricom.

“With this dedicated designed fuel treatment system the growth of bacteria can be prevented, extends the life time of the gas oil and reduces the maintenance costs of the equipment,” said Henri Hafkamp , Sales Manager at DBR.

DBR reported that it also delivered three 1250kVA containerized grid generator sets, type DTL1250R2S, and one 400kVA emergency diesel package, type DML400R2S, in accordance to the applicable DNV-GL classification rules.
