The Skandi Africa is a DP class 3 offshore subsea construction vessel, built for Norwegian offshore vessel owner DOF and chartered by French contractor Technip.

The vessel, build by Vard Søviknes shipyard, arrived at the Huisman Schiedam quayside, at the end of March 2015, for its final outfitting.

During its stay at Huisman, Skandi Arfica was equipped with a 650mt Pipelay Tower, a 150mt Knuckleboom Crane and a 900mt Pedestal Mounted Crane.

The Skandi Africa is 160.9 meters long, has a 2.700 m2 deck area, under-deck storage capacity of 3,500 Te and two work-class ROVs rated for 4,000 m water depth.

It started on a five-year time charter contract to Technip in October last year.
