The opening day of Oceanology International 2016 (OI 2016) conference will be exploring the steps being taken to achieve cost reduction in the marine renewable energy industry during Marine Renewables conference session.
The Marine Renewables session will be chaired by Nick Murphy, Head of Operations at SeaRoc, and Tony Hodgson, Global Business Development Manager – Renewable Energy at Fugro.
There are fifteen speakers taking part in the Marine Renewables conference stream, including the chairmen, and it is divided into three sessions: Surveying, Innovation in Foundations, and New Applications for Technologies.
Some of the presentations during three sessions will include those of Fabian Wolk, President of Rockland Scientific with ‘Quantifying turbulence in tidal channels’, followed by Tritech International’s Senior Software Engineer, Pauline Jepp, with ‘Field-proven techniques in target identification and tracking using sonar technologies around marine current turbines’.
Also, Damian Callan, Technical Manager at McLlaughlin & Harvey will be speaking about innovative foundation installation techniques for offshore renewables projects, and Callum Morrie, ESA IAP Offshore Energy Ambassador from the European Space Agency who will be presenting ‘Developing roles for space applications in the offshore renewable energy sector under the European Space Agency’s Integrated Applications Promotion Programme (IAP)’.

The free-to-attend conference will take place from March 15-17, 2016, at London’s ExCeL.
