Polish lifting equipment manufacturer Protea has launched a new service crane for the offshore wind industry.

The new crane is designed for light lifting and handling operations on unmanned platforms, according to Protea.

The crane’s design combines extra high grade steel to increase strength whilst reducing weight, with low maintenance components, the manufacturer said.

The service crane is designed in accordance with the relevant DNV and NORSOK codes and has a fully electric hoist with AOPS and MOPS overload protection.

A range of options such as electrical slew drive or visual display showing service requirements can also be provided to meet specific client requirements.
