ConocoPhillips’ long serving CFO retires

Houston-based ConocoPhillips revealed on Thursday that its executive vice president, finance and chief financial officer Jeff Sheets has retired after 35 years of service.

Houston-based energy giant ConocoPhillips revealed on Thursday that its executive vice president, finance and chief financial officer Jeff Sheets has retired after 35 years of service.

Due to Sheets’ retirement, ConocoPhillips made several changes to its executive leadership in order to realign responsibilities, according to the company’s statement.

Don Wallette, Jr., currently executive vice president, commercial, business development and corporate planning, has been named executive vice president, finance, commercial and chief financial officer.

Current executive vice president Al Hirshberg, has been named executive vice president, production, drilling and projects, and will oversee the company’s worldwide operations and will also be responsible for drilling, major projects and the health, safety and environmental function, ConocoPhillips said.

Matt Fox, currently executive vice president, exploration and production, has been named executive vice president, strategy, exploration and technology responsible for strategic planning, exploration, business development and technology development.

All the appointments are effective April 1 until when Sheets will remain in his current position to provide support during the transition of his responsibilities.
