Subsea Global Solutions (SGS), the underwater repair, maintenance and marine solutions provider, has acquired the assets and personnel of Sea Sub Systems, an underwater vessel repair services company based in Tampa, Fla.

The Tampa office, including all staff and equipment, will be rebranded Subsea Global Solutions and will provide the company with an expanded presence in the region.

“Sea Sub Systems has been SGS’s partner for many years on the West coast of Florida. This acquisition provides us a local resource of experienced, skilled people whom we’ve been training and developing for decades,” said Paul Peters , CEO at SGS. “Tampa is a strategic location for us, with access to Gulf ports as well as a proximity to Port Canaveral. Bringing Sea Sub into our family will allow us to provide faster, more cost-effective service to our customers on both coasts of Florida.”

The new office will strengthen SGS’s footprint with the cruise ship industry as well as with commercial shippers, allowing fast response for emergency services, underwater maintenance, environmental compliance and fuel-efficiency programs. The Tampa team will also be available for surveys and routine inspections.
