Heerema Marine Contractors Australia (HMC) has, under the contract awarded by McDermott, completed the installation of 140 kilometers of rigid subsea flowlines for Inpex-operated Ichthys LNG project.

The contract, awarded in 2012, includes the transportation and installation of flowlines, production flowlines, integrated pipeline structures, large subsea structures, a subsea riser support structure, and moorings for floating processing facilities-FPSO and CPF.

The infield flowlines were set up in water depths up to 275 meters to carry reservoir fluids from 20 subsea wells to the project’s two floating processing facilities.

“The final infield pipelay marks a significant achievement for the project’s offshore installation campaign at the Ichthys Field in the Browse Basin, approximately 220 kilometers offshore Western Australia,” Inpex wrote on its social media.

Heerema used its deepwater construction vessel (DCV) Aegir to complete the project.
