French LNG player Engie on Thursday said Isabelle Kocher will be named the company’s CEO replacing Gérard Mestrallet.
In its statement, Engie added that Mestrallet will continue as the company’s chairman of the board, forming a part of divided governance with Kocher.
The directorship changes will be proposed at the shareholder annual general meeting to be held n May 3.
Engie added that promoting Kocher, who was named deputy CEO and COO in November 2014 is a move that reflects challenges in the changing energy sector.
Additionally, Jean-Louis Beffa and Lord Simon of Highbury have decided not to renew their Group directorship positions and will be replaced by Fabrice Brégier who has been a CEO of Airbus since 2012 and Peter Ricketts, a British diplomat, ambassador of the United Kingdom in France from January 2012 to February 2016.
The French utility also noted that Lucie Muniesa, executive vice president of the Agence des participations de l’Etat, has been appointed as the director representing the state on the Engie board of directors replacing Astrid Milsan.
