Rosmorport plans to dredge 23.8 mln cbm of material in 2016, said Andrei Lavrishchev, Executive Director of FSUE Rosmorport, at the 3rd International Forum of Dredging Companies in Moscow, organized by Media-Group PortNews.

According to Andrei Lavrishchev, the scope of dredging works for construction of new facilities will include removal of 11.8 mln cbm of material and 12 mln cbm of material will be removed during the maintenance dredging operations.

The scope of maintenance dredging performed with the company’s own resources will involve removal of around 6.1 mln cbm of material.

Andrei Lavrishchev added that the company will expand its fleet with four new dredgers in 2016 and this will allow Rosmorport to execute up to 60% of maintenance dredging with its own resources without subcontracting.

According to Andrei Lavrishchev, it is 1.5-2 times more efficient for Rosmorport to use its own dredging fleet instead of the subcontractors’ fleet.
