Denmark’s Energinet.dk is seeking a contractor to provide gravity based substructures for KFA and KFBE offshore substations for Kriegers Flak wind project in the Baltic Sea.

The planned 600MW offshore wind farm will act as a ‘Supergrid’, eventually being able to transmit renewable energy through power grids to Denmark, Sweden and Germany.

The substructures are to be used as foundations for the three AC offshore substation topsides (KFA, KFB and KFE) for two projects called Kriegers Flak AC and Kriegers Flak Combined Grid Solution (CGS).

The scope of work will consist of fabrication and transportation of substructures to the offshore construction site, preparation of seabed, placement of the substructures, preparing of scour protection, and all other relevant works for fabrication, transport and offshore installation.

According to a tender issued by Energinet.dk, the expected time for execution of the contract is Q4 2016 – Q1 2018, subject to change of time schedule.

The deadline for the submission of tenders, worth approximately EUR 25 million, is March 14, 2016.

Kriegers Flak plans to start operating sometime between 2018 and 2020 and should help more than double Denmark’s wind power energy capacity.
