Italian offshore contractor, Micoperi said on Friday it has been selected as the engineering, procurement and construction (EPC) contractor for Tema LNG project in Ghana.
According to the company’s statement, the construction of the project is set to start this year. The Tema LNG project will have a capacity of about 3.40 million tons of LNG per year, equivalent to 500 million standard cubic feet of gas per day, utilizing a floating storage and regasification unit (FSRU) moored 12 kilometres offshore Tema.
The facility will have the capacity to fuel over 2,000 MW of power generation.
Earlier in February, Quantum Power and Ghana National Petroleum Corporation signed heads of terms for the construction and operation of the LNG import facilities at Tema.
