U.S. LNG export player Cheniere is to export its third cargo of LNG as the third vessel is heading to its Sabine Pass liquefaction and export facility in Louisiana.
The 155,000 cbm GasLog Salem LNG carrier is expected to dock at the Sabine Pass facility on March 25, shipping data showed on Wednesday.
Cheniere shipped the long-awaited first cargo from its Sabine Pass export facility in February to Brazil’s Petrobras. The cargo was shipped and delivered onboard the 160,000 cbm carrier Asia Vision.
The second LNG cargo was loaded and shipped onboard the 162,000 cbm LNG carrier Clean Ocean. The Clean Ocean appears to be also heading to Brazil.
Cheniere’s Sabine Pass facility is the first of its kind to export U.S. shale gas to overseas markets.
The company plans to construct over time up to six liquefaction trains, which are in various stages of development, at its existing import terminal located along the Sabine Pass River.
Each train is expected to have a nominal production capacity of about 4.5 mtpa of LNG.
