A North American sand and gravel company was recently in the market for a new and efficient electric dredge to replace their existing diesel drag line.

The customer decided to move forward with an Rohr-Idreco 300 (12″) electric jet suction dredge, which has a digging depth of 60 ft. (18 m) and production capacity in excess of 400 tph.

The dredge is equipped with a state-of-the-art GPS and sonar system that allows operator to have virtually real time information on where material has been dredged and where virgin material still lies through an intricate mapping system.

The dredge is equipped with an RISD 300 (12″) Rohr-Idreco dredge pump, as well as one RIBS 300 (12″) Rohr-Idreco booster pump station, one of the most efficient and modern dredge pumps currently available in the market.

It reduces wear and increases production with less energy consumption. The Rohr-Idreco team worked closely with the customer to make sure that the dredge and booster pump would meet the pumping distance and production requirements of the project.
