Hyundai E&C, Hyundai Engineering and Korea Gas Corporation (Kogas) consortium has recently won a KRW3.6 trillion (US$2.93 billion) contract to build a liquefied natural gas plant in Kuwait.
The deal was awarded by the state-owned Kuwait National Petroleum Company (KNPC).
Under the contract Hyundai E&C will be in charge of construction of eight LNG storage tanks and the docking facilities at the Al-Zour LNG import terminal, 90 kilometers south of Kuwait’s capital, Kuwait City, the consortium said in a statement.
Hyundai Engineering has been chosen to build the regasification facility while Kogas is in charge of commissioning and operation training for KNPC, the consortium said.
The construction of the facility is scheduled to last 58 months and be completed in 2020.
