Erin Energy has mobilized the Island Constructor light well intervention (LWI) vessel to the Oyo field, offshore Nigeria.
The vessel will be used for LWI service on the Oyo-8 well, which has been necessitated by the failure of the well’s sub-surface controlled sub-surface safety valve (SCSSV) to open following a planned production curtailment in the Oyo field, the company said.
The completion of the intervention and re-opening of the SCSSV is expected in April 2016.
Island Constructor is anticipated to arrive on the Oyo field mid-April and will immediately start work on the well.
According to the company, the intervention is expected take a few days to complete and to subsequently re-establish production from the well.
