Danish oil company Maersk Oil has extended a contract for the accommodation jack-up Haven, offshore Denmark.
The current contract for the use of the accommodation jack-up Haven has been extended with two months. The total value of the extension is approximately $4.5 million.
The oil company previously hired the rig in July 2015 for a period of 6 months, and the contract started in October 2015. Total value of this contract was about $14 million for up to 150 company personnel on board.
The rig is owned by Jacktel, a wholly owned subsidiary of a provider of accommodation services, Master Marine.
Haven is a 2011-built, 4-legged self-elevating multi-purpose unit built for the North Sea harsh environment.
The accommodation jack-up was also contracted by the Norwegian oil and gas company Statoil for use on the Johan Sverdrup field, in the North Sea offshore Norway.
The rig will be used for accommodation during the installation and commissioning period for the Johan Sverdrup project phase 1. The contract period is 18 months with an estimated start June 15, 2018.
