Subsea World News has gathered all the highlights to bring you a summarized version of the most popular articles from the previous month.

In March, more layoffs were announced in Norway when Aker Solutions informed its employees in subsea division it will cut as many as 600 permanent positions at facilities in Fornebu, Moss, Tranby and Ågotnes. News about Subsea 7 slashing more than previously announced 2500 also attracted many readers last month.

Also in March, Danish offshore wind farm installation and services company A2SEA informed that its cable installation subsidiary CT Offshore will not be taking on any more projects and that all of its vessels and equipment will be sold.

DW said that the subsea OEMs are up for a very difficult year and that they will feel the full impact of the downturn in 2016.

On a brighter note, OneSubsea secured two 5-year global frame agreements (GFA) from BP to provide engineering, procurement and construction (EPC) of subsea production systems (SPS) and subsea aftermarket services, while Statoil awarded Technip Norway a contract for marine operations at Hywind Scotland Pilot Park project.

Other interesting stories came from Jumbo who installed the world’s largest underwater restaurant, located in Hurawalhi, Maldives, and another from OneSubsea and its R&D project which will create five new jobs and safeguard a further 35.
