A new Rohr floating bucket ladder dredge was installed on a greenfield site of an existing sand and gravel operation for a European customer.

The KS 225 is an electric dredge with a digging depth of 40 ft (12 m) and production capacity up to 620 tph (432 m³/hr) utilizing 225 liter buckets.

The dredge is equipped with an on-board Fine Sand Recovery System, High Frequency Fine Sand Dewatering Screen and Cyclone.

The buckets have variable speed and are individually mounted on Caterpillar® tractor chain, which allows for easy replacement of any damaged buckets.

The KS 225 has fully automated controls to support a one-man operation and very low power requirements.

Rohr also supplied the 1100 ft. (335 m) of floating conveyors that delivers the separated and dewatered material to the main conveyor belt system going to the plant.

Rohr’s floating bucket ladders have a standard digging depth of up to 60 ft (18 m), but can be designed to reach up to 75 ft (23 m).

Production ranges from 300 to over 1,000 tph, depending on material and digging depth.
