Subsea Technology and Rentals (STR) has increased its portfolio of subsea rental equipment with the purchase of iXBlue’s OCTANS NANO.

iXBlue is providing the OCTANS NANO subsea gyrocompass for utilisation by STR clients in ROV and structure monitoring operations.

The order is part of STR’s expanding range of iXBlue navigation and positioning technology after recent investments in OCTANS 3000, ROVINS and RAMSES.

OCTANS NANO is in use today in ROV navigation, tow-fish, plough and trencher navigation as well as various subsea structure monitoring tasks.

Neil Jackson , STR sales and operations manager, said: “As providers of specialist marine equipment and supporters of iXBlue products, we had no hesitation in adding the new OCTANS NANO to our range of positioning sensors available for hire. We are looking forward to distributing the OCTANS NANO to our clients worldwide.”

Brook Rodger , iXBlue regional sales manager, stated: “We are proud that STR have once again selected iXBlue technology for their continued business mission. NANO is the younger brother of the industry leading OCTANS 3000 and in sharing the same genes it is becoming the de-facto standard in its class. We are very pleased that STR have chosen to offer NANO in their rental pool.”
