Bakker Sliedrecht has just completed the electrical installations works on the trailing suction hopper dredger Inai Kenanga.

The Inai Kenanga is the biggest TSHD in Malaysia and the world’s third biggest.

Bakker Sliedrecht has been responsible for all main electrical installations of the vessel, including the dredging automation system.

This system allows the operators to accurately control the movements of the suction pipe. It also offers the operators real-time productivity information to monitor the dredging process.

The Sliedrecht-based provider of the construction and maintenance of electrical and mechanical installations has equipped the Inia Kenanga with six low voltage drive systems, including two jet pump drive systems, and two drive systems for the suction pipe.

BIMAC, the purpose-built vessel management system that is designed by Bakker Sliedrecht, was also installed on the Inai Kenanga.

The 33,335 m2 TSHD was built at the shipyard of Selat Melaka in Malaysia.
