Van Oord’s trailing suction hopper dredger HAM 318 has just arrived in Maldives, ready to undertake some massive dredging and land reclamation tasks.
The scope of the HAM’s work will include dredging, reclamation and civil works in the Thinadhoo, Feydhoo and Himmafushi areas.
The Maldives’ Ministry of Housing and Infrastructure said that the completion of these projects is expected to take place around the end of this year.
Dr. Mohamed Muizzu, the Minister of Housing and Infrastructure, signed the agreement on behalf of the Government of Maldives and Mr. Ton Van der Burg inked the deal on behalf of Van Oord in November 2015.
