Norway to Back Subsea R&D Projects

Research fund of Western Norway has announced another NOK 10 million in pre-project funding, with focus on energy, including subsea.

The funding, with aim to qualify R&D projects for support from main projects with support from the regional research fund, the Research Council of Norway, EU, Innovation Norway or similar, is awarded continuously until June 15, 2016.

The funding should strengthen regional research, innovation and development.

Priority goes to applications where small or medium enterprises cooperate with R&D environment. For this funding, grants from regional research funds requires a 50 per cent own funding in terms of labour of cash.

Candidates can receive NOK 500 000 in support and projects can run over 12 months. NOK 800 000 can be awarded to companies with projects that will help to solve restructuring challenges in Western Norway.

Call for main projects is planned in the autumn with a possible award of NOK 1 million in support per year for up to 3 years, under condition that a 50 per cent own funding is in place.
