SEAI seeks expert support for ocean energy

The Sustainable Energy Authority of Ireland (SEAI) has opened a tender to assemble a group of experts which would help SEAI deliver its Ocean Energy programme.

The Sustainable Energy Authority of Ireland (SEAI) has opened a tender to assemble a group of experts which would help SEAI deliver its Ocean Energy programme.

The objective of this request for tender (RFT) is to compile an expert panel of six service providers that may be called on to assist on the delivery of the SEAI Ocean Energy programme.

Additionally, the service providers may be requested to provide technical input to the Offshore Renewable Energy Steering Group (ORESG) working groups.

SEAI is awarding contracts for a one year period, which subject to satisfactory performance, organizational need and budget availability, and may be extended for a second and third year depending on performance and the requirements of the Ocean Energy programme.

To remind, the Department of Communications, Energy and Natural Resources (DCENR), with input from SEAI, have published an Offshore Renewable Energy Development Plan (OREDP) in 2014, which describes the policy context for development of offshore wind, wave and tidal stream energy in Irish waters for the period to 2030.
