Sevan Marine’s, HiLoad LNG unit, in cooperation with Technip, revealed the parallel loading system during a conference Houston.

In a statement on Thursday, Sevan Marine revealed the system combines HiLoad LNG unit for station keeping and Technip’s cryogenic flexible aerial pipes to transfer LNG from an FLNG unit to a conventional LNG carrier with no modifications necessary.

The combination was simulated during last year at Sevan Marine’s facilities in Holland, according to the statement, demonstrating the system’s ability to maintain vessel separation of 100 meters or more in adverse environmental conditions.

The system has been developed over a two-year period of cooperation between Technip and HiLoad LNG, including studies during 2014 and 2015.

Sevan Marine added in its statement that the “game changing” solution can be used with other transfer solutions “such as a floating cryogenic hose.”
