A 3D seismic vessel Polar Marquis has kicked off a survey in the Black Sea, Dolphin Geophysical informed through its social media on Monday.

The 119 meters long vessel, capable of deploying 16 streamers, is owned and managed by a Norwegian company GC Rieber. In addition to Polar Marquis, Dolphin had three more seismic vessels from GC Rieber.

However, Dolphin Group filed for bankruptcy on December 14, 2015, following the board conclusion that there is no longer a basis for continued operations.

GC Rieber, now a parent company of Dolphin’s UK division, Dolphin Geophysical Ltd, said on Wednesday that the project will take approximately 45 days, and it will be carried out for Black Sea Oil & Gas S.R.L. offshore Romania.

“In this challenging market we’re pleased to see that clients value our highly advanced assets and our ability to adapt to specific needs, together with the high quality acquisition and processing services delivered by Dolphin Geophysical Ltd,” says CEO Irene Waage Basili.
