MG3, a geoscience survey specialist, has acquired the DP2 vessel MV Ocean Spirit complete with geotechnical site investigation equipment spread.
MG3 took delivery of the multirole DP2 vessel Ocean Spirit (formerly MV Highland Spirit) which will be the latest addition to the DP fleet offered by MG3 to the marine geoscience and ROV survey industry.
Ocean Spirit will be able to provide a range of services to the offshore industry in the oil & gas, renewables, telecommincations and port authorities/dredging/infrastructure sectors, the company said.
In addition, MG3 said it is implementing upgrades to the vessel and equipment spread, and that it should be available to the market before end May 2016.
According to the company, the vessel has an onboard geotechnical laboratory and has permanent fully heave compensated geotechnical rig and CPTU system and will be equipped with multibeam and 2D high resolution seismic and geophysics survey spread, environmental equipment plus inspection/work class ROV.
