The vessel was formerly known as MV Highland Spirit and belonged to Calecore, UK-based geotechnical company that went into administration in 2015.

The company said it was already implementing upgrades to the vessel and equipment spread, with works scheduled to be completed before the end of this month.

The vessel has an onboard geotechnical laboratory and a permanent fully heave compensated geotechnical rig and CPTU system and will also be equipped with multibeam and 2D high resolution seismic and geophysics survey spread, environmental equipment plus inspection/work class ROV.
