Guwahati Metropolitan Development Authority (GMDA) has started a massive project to refurbish its water bodies.

In order to achieve this, GMDA decided to go with REMU Big Float 1400 amphibious excavator that will be used for dredging of the overgrown lake.

According to GMDA CEO, Shri. Anurag Sing , one of the reasons to choose the Big Float dredger was its ability to operate as well on swamp, shoreline and also in open water.

“ One reason to choose the Big Float dredger was its ability to operate as well on swamp, shoreline and also in open water. REMU Big Float is ideal for project like the one in Guwahati where access to dredging site requires passing soft land. Big Float 1400 has also a wide operation area as it has 13 meter outreach in front and can rotate 360 degrees ,” said Sing.

The REMU Big Float undercarriage is hydraulically adjustable and it can be narrowed for transportation width of only 3 meters, making it easy to transport from one job site to another.

Also, the Big Float can be driven onto the lowboy and there is no need for crane assistance.
