Royal IHC successfully held its second dredging seminar in Istanbul, Turkey on 17 May 2016.

The event was hosted by Dutch Consul General Robert Schuddeboom in the historical grounds of the Palais de Hollande in the Beyoğlu area of the city.

“We wanted to give our honored guests an insight into equipment selection and cost calculation ,” said Area Sales Director Middle East Amine Ezzedine.

“By illustrating the latest developments in dredging technology, we showed the potential of new markets yet to be explored in Turkey. This included the first demonstration of the reuse and processing of dredged materials.”

Attendees represented a range of sectors, including private contractors, government agencies and universities.

Guest speaker Mr. Polite Laboyrie, Witteveen+Bos and President of the Central Dredging Association (CEDA) addressed the role of dredging in upcoming Turkish infrastructure work, including the new historic Bosporus Canal (Canal Istanbul).
