GC Rieber Shipping, has landed a cable lay charter with James Fisher Marine Services for the vessel Polar Onyx for services in the British sector.
According to the Norwegian offshore vessels provider, the charter starts immediately and with options may last in excess of one month.
Prior to this charter, the 130 meters long flexible piplay and subsea construction vessel was engaged in a flex-laying campaign for Chevron offshore Nigeria.
“We’re pleased to see continued utilization for Polar Onyx in today’s market and look forward to working with James Fisher for this opportunity,” said GC Rieber’s CEO Irene Basili.
Polar Onyx is fitted with a 275t vertical lay system which is capable of installing flexible pipe and umbilicals of 50 – 630mm OD in up to 3,000m water depth.
