India-based offshore services provider, MDL Energy, through its Singapore subsidiary, WaterBridge Ventures, will be investing in a series of new offshore support vessels based on its proprietary new design V 4910.

With a heave compensated offshore crane on board, the vessels are designed to be highly versatile, aimed at both the oil and gas inspection, maintenance and repair market including walk to work, diving and ROV operations, as well as installation and servicing of renewable energy facilities such as wind farms, tidal energy installations and other offshore energy applications.

These vessels would have new generation hybrid power, with fuel savings of up to 25% achieved through a diesel electric dual fuel engine, coupled with battery power and an energy management system, MDL Energy.

The company will be tendering shortly for a suitable yard and equipment package to meet its specifications.

The delivery for the first vessel from this program is expected in early 2018.

WaterBridge Ventures will be seeking partnerships with operators as well as asset owners to deploy the vessels on a long term contract basis, MDL Energy informed.
