Prysmian Gets Submarine Cable Project in Venetian Lagoon

Prysmian Group has been awarded a new contract worth approximately € 34 million by Terna Rete Italia S.p.A. for submarine power cable links in the Venetian Lagoon. Prysmian Group has been awarded a new contract worth approximately € 34 million by Terna Rete Italia S.p.A. for submarine power cable links in the Venetian Lagoon.

The contract has options for a second cable link with a value of approximately € 25 million.

The project includes two 14 km and 6 km long high voltage alternate current (HVAC) 132 kV cable links in Venice.

As Prysmian informed, the cables will be produced in the Arco Felice plant, near Naples. Commissioning is scheduled in 2017.
