Last week, Rosmorport’s newest trailing suction hopper dredger, the ‘Sommers’, successfully completed her sea trials.
The vessel is the first in a series of three 1000 m³ TSHDs, under construction at the Krasnoye Sormovo shipyard.
The Sommers, named after the island in the eastern part of the Gulf of Finland, was launched in January 2016.
During the tests, functioning of all mechanisms and systems of the ship was checked including the ship’s intake and discharge equipment.
Following the completion of mooring and sea trials, final preparations are being carried out ahead of the vessel delivery to the North-West Basin Branch of Rosmorport.
