Krasnoye Sormovo Launches Rosmorport’s Second TSHD

Krasnoye Sormovo shipyard yesterday held a launching ceremony for the second of three 1000 m³ trailing suction hopper dredgers, the Kronshlot, being built for FSUE “Rosmorport”.

The event was attended by Rosmorport Executive Director, Andrei Lavrishchev, Krasnoye Sormovo Director General, Nikolai Zharkov, Head of Nizhny Novgorod Administration, Sergei Belov, MNP Group Director General, Dmitry Khritin, etc.

Contract for the construction and delivery of the three TSHDs was signed back in April 2014. The newbuilds are scheduled to enter service in 2016 and 2017, respectively.

The vessels (Sommers, Kronshlot and Kadosh), all to have the necessary equipment suitable for the climatic conditions of the region, will be stationed at seaports of Ust-Luga, Big Port St. Petersburg and Port of Tuapse.

Designed by Damen Shipyards Gorinchem, the newbuilds will be equipped with an outboard multifunctional submersible groundwater pump type “DOP 200”.
