China’s CNOOC informed its Zhejiang LNG terminal received its first ever cargo from South America on June 5.

A company’s statement reveals the cargo was delivered aboard the Methane Alison Victoria, the 2007-built LNG carrier capable of transporting 145,000 cubic meters of the chilled gas.

The vessel departed from Peru’s 4.4 mtpa liquefaction plant on May 2 and delivered about 60,000 tons of the chilled fuel to the terminal.

The company noted that this was the 68th cargo unloaded at the facility with the total volume reaching 4,937 million tons since the terminal became operational in 2013.

The Zhejiang LNG terminal, located in Ningbo in China’s Zhejiang province, has the handling capacity of 3 million tons of LNG per year.
