Seatricity, a Falmouth-based wave energy developer, has released a video showing the recent installation of its wave energy device Oceanus 2 at Wave Hub.
The video features the installation footage, as well as the interview with Seatricity’s Managing Director Andy Bristow aboard the installation vessel belonging to Keynvor Morlift used for the works.
Seatricity installed the 162 kW Oceanus 2 device at Wave Hub in May this year.
The device works as float that travels up and down with the waves operates a pump to pressurize sea water which is piped ashore to drive the generators to produce electricity.
Commissioning is ongoing with data already flowing from the device over the radio link to St. Ives, Cornwall.
The installation has been possible with the help of local Cornwall and SW companies including A&P Group, Keynvor Morlift, Seawide Services, and Wave Hub.
