Det norske has awarded a subsea contract for christmas trees to Aker Solutions for Alvheim field, Det norske’s core area of production. In addition, Subsea 7 has been awarded a contract for SURF services.
The contracts for Aker Solutions and Subsea 7 are worth over NOK 2.7 billion (approximately $333 million), and will cover a firm scope of the already decided subsea tie-ins on Alvheim, as well as the frame contract for the next 4 years.
Mermaid Maritime has, through its subsidiary Seascape Group, been awarded six different subsea works in the Asian region.
The contracts have an estimated aggregate value of USD 15 million. The work scopes under the contracts include subsea survey, inspection, repair and maintenance using saturation diving, air diving and the use of underwater remotely operated vehicles (ROVs).
Aker Solutions has won a contract to deliver its “longest-ever” umbilicals system at the Zohr offshore gas field in the Egyptian part of the Mediterranean Sea.
The agreement with Petrobel in Egypt is worth more than NOK 1 billion. It stipulates the delivery of 180 kilometers of steel tube umbilicals that will connect the Zohr subsea development to an offshore control platform.
A research by industry body, Subsea UK, has found that, 90% of surveyed companies in the UK’s subsea industry have in the last 18 months seen sales drop by 30-50% or more.
Of those, 28% have lost half their revenues with sales decreasing by 50% or more, while close to 6% reported no impact on sales and almost only 4% have seen an increase in revenues.
Solstad Offshore has entered into a frame agreement with Technip Norge and Technip UK for supply of vessels for trenching, construction and subsea services.
The frame agreement is valid for 2016 – 2018. Through this agreement Technip can utilize Normand Progress, Normand Pioneer, Normand Ranger and Normand Mariner.
