The video shows the construction of the power substation for the SEENEOH tidal testing site on the Garonne river, Bordeaux, France.

SEENEOH is a tidal testing site on the Garonne river that comprises three test berths, located at depths greater than 8 m, and designed to accommodate tidal devices with mounted or floating fixation type.

Each testing berth is connected to the onshore substation through an export cable, with a grid connection that has a total capacity of 250 kW.

The site is located upstream Garonne river where the tidal range during spring tides exceeds 5 m and current velocity reaches up to 3.5 m/s, while currents above 1 m/s occur approximately 80% of the time, according to SEENEOH.

The test site is operated by Énergie de la Lune – an engineering firm specializing in marine renewable energy and ocean engineering, and it is expected to be fully operation in 2016.
