Following successful sea trials, Krasnoye Sormovo shipyard – part of United Shipbuilding Corporation – has completed delivery of the trailing suction hopper dredger Sommers.
The Sommers is the lead vessel in a series of three 1000 m³ TSHDs that are being built for Rosmorport.
The TSHDs were designed by Damen Shipyards Gorinchem, the Netherlands, with the working design documentation provided by Volga-Caspian Design Bureau (MNP Group), Russia.
The other two dredgers, to be named Kronshlot and Kadosh, are scheduled for delivery by the end of 2016.
The vessels, all to have the necessary equipment suitable for the climatic conditions of the region, will be stationed at seaports of Ust-Luga, Big Port St. Petersburg and Port of Tuapse.
