German renewables specialists 8.2 Consulting AG has joined forces with the offshore wind advisory, Aarufield, to announce an integrated UK-based consultancy offering technical, commercial and financial advice to wind, solar and biomass industry players – 8.2 Aarufield.

Both 8.2 Aarufield partners bring teams with turbine, supply chain and original equipment manufacturer experience.

Chairman Julian Brown, who is also elected Chair of Renewable UK, said: “We have come together to build on each other’s success to grow the business in the UK. 8.2 Group boasts 20 years of operation and solid expansion, having evolved from onshore turbine specialists, to experts in offshore and now also solar and biomass plants.”

The new company will have access to a network of 130 financial, electrical, mechanical engineers, operating from 28 offices globally.

“Aarufield has only been in operation for 12 months but it was long enough to build a strong reputation for supporting clients by helping them optimise assets and de-risk their projects, and be recognised as a solid investment opportunity. We are delighted to be joining forces with Aarufield to grow our UK business together,” CEO of 8.2 Consulting, Charles Dugué, said.

As a boutique practice, 8.2 Aarufield will provide clients with a focussed range of services: advisory, project leadership, contracting and operational technical support, monitoring and intelligence.

“We work with investors, utilities, developers and businesses right through the supply chain to ensure they deliver projects on schedule and within budget and that they optimise their assets with the least technical and commercial risk,” Brown said.
