The Boskalis’ Magnor, one of the world’s largest backhoe dredgers, is in Hull, conducting dredging operations for the Green Port development project.

The Green Port scheme, being developed by Siemens and its partner Associated British Ports (ABP), will be the the UK’s first offshore wind turbine manufacturing, assembly, service and installation facility.

The Magnor, launched in mid-February and delivered to Boskalis in April, was built by the Dutch shipbuilder Ravestein at its Deest facility.

With the 40m long spuds and dredge depths of 32 m, the bucket of the Magnor can lift no less than 67,000 kilograms of dredged material.

WM Plant Hire, the long reach excavator specialists also involved in the project, has just released this aerial footage of the Magnor’s work in Hull.
