Eni’s CEO Claudio Descalzi renewed the company’s cooperation with Algeria’s Sonatrach during his meeting with Amine Mazouzi, chairman and CEO of the Algerian State Oil & Gas Company.
Descalzi also met with the Algerian minister of energy, Noureddine Bouterfa, the company informed in a statement.
The parties agreed to extend the production licenses for the ROD reservoir, its satellite fields and three fields in Block 403.
Under its renewed partnership with Sonatrach, Eni intends to complete the unitisation process between the SF field, where Sonatrach has a 100 percent stake, and the SFNE field, which is jointly operated by Eni and Sonatrach.
Eni added that the renewed deal would see the re-launching of gas development activities in existing concessions in the country and starting new renewable energy activities. The two companies also aim to enhance their existing facilities in Algeria.
