Trelleborg’s Houston-based offshore operation has been awarded a purchase order from an undisclosed ‘major European drilling contractor’ for drill riser buoyancy modules (DRBMs).
Regardless of the details being undisclosed, Trelleborg, which provides syntactic based materials designed specifically for the for the offshore drilling segment, said on Monday that this contract is agreed with a “trusted partner” and that it is the sixth order from this contractor for their newbuild rig series.
Alan McBride , Vice President of Trelleborg’s offshore operation, said: “We are thrilled that our long-standing relationship with this contractor has grown into a wonderful partnership. This additional order strengthens the relationship between our two companies, and we are confident in our ability to deliver the buoyancy solution required to meet their needs.“
He added that Trelleborg will be able to provide the entire stock of buoyancy required for the newbuild and that the stock will be delivered to the partner by the end of 2016.
