Following the completion of the Thinadhoo and Feydhoo schemes, Van Oord’s trailing suction hopper dredger (TSHD) HAM 318 has moved to another location and is now busy with the dredging and reclamation of Male’ Industrial Village.
The Ministry of Housing and Infrastructure, Maldives, has just released this beautiful photo of the HAM 318 working on the Male’ project.
The vessel will stay in the area for the next couple of days until the land reclamation works are completed.
According to Minister Dr. Mohamed Muizzu, when complete, the Male’ Industrial Village area will bring a lot of conveniences to the people of Male’.
Under this project an area of 4.5 hectares of new land is to be reclaimed in Male’ South West harbor area.
This land will be allocated to move existing industrial works, waste management, parking of heavy vehicles etc.
