Chevron has evacuated workers at its US$54 billion Gorgon LNG terminal after a minor gas leak on Friday.
Chevron said in an emailed statement that workers in the area were evacuated and there were no injuries after responding to a “minor gas leak.”
Despite the issue, Chevron noted that the project remains on schedule to load the first cargo following the March shut-down .
To remind, LNG World News reported earlier that the first cargo is scheduled to depart the Gorgon LNG facility on July 3 , a date, which according to the forecast shipping schedule has not been affected by the gas leak.
According to the data, the Marib Spirit LNG tanker was expected to dock at the giant terminal on Friday.
Chevron’s shipping schedule published on the Chevron Australia website also showed that five cargoes are planed to be shipped from the facility in July.
