Kleven’s Myklebust Verft in Gursken, Norway, has completed modification of the Aker Wayfarer to become a deepwater subsea equipment support vessel (SESV), Ocean Yeald informed on Thursday.

The modification contract was inked in October 2014 with Ocean Yield, a ship owning company with investments within oil-service and industrial shipping.

Aker Wayfarer was revamped to install and retrieve subsea trees and modules, including subsea structures and manifolds.

The 157 meters long and 27 meters wide Aker Wayfarer is the largest vessel that has been in dock at Myklebust Verft.

The vessel is designed by Vard, and delivered from Vard Søviknes in 2010.

The Aker Wayfarer is under long-term charter until 2027 with AKOFS Offshore.
