The $10 billion Angola LNG project, led by U.S. energy giant Chevron, has relaunched an international supply tender that was canceled in June.
As previously reported, Angola LNG said that the tender was canceled in order to “align it with its operations”.
“A new tender was held shortly after the cancellation,” an Angola LNG spokeswoman told LNG World News without providing additional details.
LNG World News understands that this tender is for the fourth LNG cargo loaded at the 5.2 million tons per year LNG plant since the facility restarted production in June this year.
To remind, the LNG plant in Soyo was closed in April 2014, due to a major rupture on a flare line.
Angola LNG has a fleet of seven 160,000-cbm LNG tankers chartered on a long-term basis to transport the chilled fuel to customers around the world, according to its website.
At full production, more than 70 LNG cargoes will be delivered globally from the LNG plant in Soyo every year.
Angola LNG is a joint venture between Sonangol (22.8%), Chevron (36.4%), BP (13.6%), Eni (13.6%), and Total (13.6%).
